This percussion lock was made by Thompson Center, for their Hawken Cougar. It is the same design as the lock used on Hawken or Renegade rifles, except in stainless steel, and could be used on those rifles. The photo is representative! This used lock is in perfect working order, very good condition.
Right hand, the lock plate and hammer are factory engraved, and made from stainless steel. Notice the early style hammer, with straight-up finger spur. The nose cup of this early style hammer requires the longer nipple. Later T/C locks have a hammer with a curled finger spur, and they require the new short nipple.
This lock has a powerful coil mainspring, fly detent for use with double set triggers, and it is tapped for an 8-32 lock bolt, sold separately.
